Google moves into Kansas City!

One of the most recognizable names in not only the US but the world is opening up a new location in the mid-west. Today I heard the good news that Google will be opening a broadband office in the Kansas City area. I had heard speculation in the past of a new office opening in the state of Missouri or Kansas but I never saw any concrete evidence until now. For a mid-westerner, like myself, this is great news! This opening could not only boost the job market; but also promote very talented and IT focused individuals to settle down in this area. Many have heard that Google's application process is anything but easy; it is not, trust me! Some have said the process involves an IQ test, background test, drug test, and I'm sure I have left a few. There is nothing wrong with that! Google is one of the coolest places to work int he world. IT bring's new meaning and taste to the ".Com" environment. But hopefully with this new office opening the mid-west will continue to grow as a hub for big business in IT. Check out more about the new Google office at the link below!

iPhone 5 Rumors, Maybe Coming in Summer 2011?

The iPhone/ lifeline have the world in frenzy while continuously revamping itself to appeal to a hungry consumer. Not long after the iPhone 4 made its debut the new iPhone 5 is leaking rumors little and big. The link below will take you to an article with some teasers for what is to come with the eventual release of the new version. Whether it is a new and improved camera or more sensitive touch screen the iPhone will always strike the eye of any consume as it has evolved from a status symbol to not only a smart phone, iPhone has become "the" smart phone. The status symbol effect is still taking place however it who has the newest iPhone that is considered the "elite." I personally disagree with Apple's processes of stringing along a consumer with small updates to an accessory but it is making them millions. Though it may be morally displeasing to me; I cannot argue with the numbers they put up.

Some of the new iPhone 5 features leaked to the public; some of which are pretty ideal. The larger screen could make it appeal to a newer demographic of older consumers. The slide-to-text could make it more versatile to a younger texting market. I know I can not stand trying to work a touch screen effectively and often times look like a monkey trying to crack a coconut. Getting back to a previous point of status symbols, the new iPhone is being showcased in not black, not white, but metal. The pictures of the metal casing make it look cutting edge and classy at the same time. Hopefully the metal casing will make it more durable to drops and other issues that relate to the iPhone breaking.

Only time will tell to see what new features Apple gives to the already acclaimed and cutting edge iPhone 5. For now check out the link below to see pictures of what the soon to come iPhone 5 will look like.

New 64G Apple iPhpne, Lost and Found

This story is hilarious. Recently, March 18th, a 27 year old software engineer from Apple was getting off work and decided to venture to a nearby bar for an after work drink. When stopping in the the bar scene this software engineer misplaced what could have been one of the most important items he has ever been in possession of. He left the unveiled 63Gig iPhone sitting at the bar! This prototype had not leaked out to the market or was really even a topic of discussion in the IT news. I never thought I would say "what a good time to lose your keys, wallet or car;" but WOW! I would rather lose anything I own rather than misplace this unseen prototype that he might not even have permission to bring outside of the building.

This really is one of the funniest stories and a worst nightmare. Check it out!

Fedora; Linux Review

"Fedora is one of the best-known desktop Linux distros but there aren’t a whole lot of derivative distros based on it. Fusion 14 is a new distro that uses Fedora 14 as its base. Don’t be fooled though, Fusion is not your father’s Fedora at all. There’s more to it than meet’s the eye and it stands a pretty good chance of replacing generic Fedora for users who like the Fedora base but who prefer to have some value-added features that take it to another level."

New iPad On Sale

With the new iPad just released there are many people wondering what all the fuss is about. The other half of the population is camping out in front of stores and losing sleep over how to get a new one. What is really different about this new edition in comparison to the older version? Is a couple new bells and whistles really a justification for raising the prices? you would think in stead of adding a flash to the camera or adding memory the Apple engineers would come up with an I iPad made of all recycled materials or one that does not cost as much due to the economy crisis. But as long as citizens of every country will camp-out and drop their jaws over the hip and the new Apple has every right to price the product at any price they wish. Obviously the are not over pricing it or they would not sell as many. The link below is a pretty good review of the new iPad. It takes more of a "face value" approach to dissect the new attributed and tweaks that have made everyone and their boss check out the new iPad 2.

Is Savvis For Sale?

I found this news article on a common social media blurb. Those of you know what and who Savvis is mat be shocked at this rumor. This could mean many lay-offs or a surge of job openings. Either way take a look at the article and tell me what you think. I think this is just rumor and speculation. Many times when news like this hits in only a few places in the web-world it loses all credibility. I think this is a hoax but still very interesting.
